Chapter 10: Nothing like a Crying Hedgie

The next morning, King Sonic and Aleena were seen sitting next to Silver's crib, with Aleena holding the sleeping baby hedgie on her shoulder. Baby Jon had been sitting on King Sonic's knee, and staring in wonderment at the little baby that was in Aleena's hold. Sonic had woken up and saw the sight, until Silver started getting fussy again. He started tearing up. Sonic took the baby hedgie and tried rocking him, until he started crying. Rouge groaned, and turned in her sleep.

Rouge: Sonic, I think he's hungry again.

Sonic, nodding, walked back over to the bed, and offered Silver to Rouge, who was still sleepy from her labor in the night. She just unbuttoned her shirt again and let Silver feed off of her. She was asleep, so she didn't care if Silver was feeding or not. The baby hedgie then went back to sleep, his tummy full. Sonic picked him back up, and redid Rouge's buttons again.

Sonic: Boy, little bud. You're one fast eater, just like me.

King Sonic: And like me.

King Sonic rubbed his grandson's head, and offered Jon a peek at his new baby cousin. Jon, curious, then tugged on one of Silver's quills, only to have him wake up and start crying. Rouge, groaning, got up and walked over to him.

Rouge: Why's he crying now?

Sonic: Jon tugged on his quills.

Rouge: Oh, well… Jon, you shouldn't have tugged on Silver's quills, now look what you've done! What have you to say for yourself, young man?

Jon then started crying. Now there were two crying babies to worry about. Amy, Rob'O, and Mari-An had come in, and saw that their son and a little silver hedgie were crying.

Rob'O: I say, why's Little Jon crying?

Sonic: He was tugging on Silver's quills, and then Rouge scorned him for it, and now he's crying out of guilt, I think.

Mari-An took the little baby Echidna out of King Sonic's arms, and rocked him.

Amy: Here, let me see the baby.

Sonic gave Silver to Amy, and she cradled him in her arms. As soon as Silver had calmed down, she tickled his little foot, making him explode into giggling. However, he started crying again, and a bad smell was coming from his diaper. Amy held her nose, as did Sonic. But dear grandpa wasn't as strong, so he ran to the bathroom and likely upchucked.

Rouge: Here, I'll get this job.

She brought Silver over to a diaper changing table, and got him out of his diaper. She undid the diaper tapes, wiped his butt and between his legs, powdered and oiled him, and snuggled a new diaper onto Silver. When she taped the diaper tapes, she picked up baby Silver and rocked him in her arms. She put him back down on the table and put him into a little blue T-Shirt saying "Mama's Boy." She picked him back up, and kissed the little hedgie, making him blush and get quite a bashful look.

Rouge: Oh, you're such a cutie. Yes you are, yes you are little Silvy.

She tickled him all over, making Silver explode into giggling glee. He then made a grab for his mother's finger, and got a good grip on it. Rouge chuckled slightly, and gave Silver another little kiss on his cheek. All of the excitement caused the little hedgie to get tired, and he yawned, falling back to sleep after nuzzling into his mother. Sonic rubbed Silver's head and the little hedgie started sucking on his thumb again.
