Chapter 4: The Big Fat Royal Wedding Part 2

On the way to St. Mobius' Cathedral in the outskirts of Mobotropolis, Rouge had been curious as to the royal way of life, so she asked some questions.

Rouge: So, your Majesty-

King Sonic: Please, Rouge, call me Dad.

Rouge: Okay… Dad, how long have you been the King?

King Sonic: Ever since I beat down Eggman's old man back in '76. He tried to capture some small planetoid, and he tried to use Metal Sonic Mk 1 to do it, and on top of that, he kidnapped Aleena. She called herself Rosy in those days, just because of her rosy fur that she had at the time.

Aleena: I was young and naïve, thinking that he was my boyfriend. But over time, he warmed up to me.

King Sonic: Guilty as charged, and when she finally caught me in 1980, I knew then and there that I had to go back to the royal lifestyle. I asked her to join me, and ten years later, I asked her to marry me. Of course, she got overexcited and glomped me saying "Yes, oh yes, Sonic, of course I will."

Rouge: Wow… Well, anyway, I already know your story, Sally. So, Dad… Boy, what a weird thing to call the King of Mobius…

King Sonic: Ah, you'll get used to it. You're probably going to ask how I'm King Sonic the Third, am I right?

Rouge nodded, Sonic and Sally just rolled his eyes, mumbling something like here we go again, meaning to say that they've heard the story thousands of times.

King Sonic: Well, my granddad, Sonic the First, married to Princess Sally Acorn the First, and became the King of Mobius after Mecha Sonic, sent by Snively Robotnik, who had become Gerald Robotnik, killed her. He then married to Aleena the First, and had triplets, Sonic the Second, Manic, and Sonia.

Rouge: And with Gerald defeated, Sonic the Second married and you were born.

King Sonic: Bingo.

Rouge, taking all of this in stride, then looked as the city disappeared behind them, and ahead of them, she saw one of the most beautiful sights she had ever seen. The St. Mobius Cathedral was spotted on the horizon. King Sonic chuckled and told the Mounted Grenadiers to announce that the royal family was coming.

Sonic and Rouge hugged each other, and shared a passionate kiss. Sonic then laid a hand on Rouge's abdomen as the little life inside was taking shape.
