A Sonouge Story Remade Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Life of Luxury

The Palace was a beautiful place, and why not? It was the Palace of Ogilvy, for crying out loud! At every door was one of the Grenadiers of the Guard, for the sake of the defense of the royal family, ready within a minute's notice, and that's how they got the nickname "the Minutemen." Rouge was looking around, quite in wonderment at how big the place was on the inside. She saw her father-in-law looking at a painting of a hedgehog dressed in a navy blue uniform with gold epaulettes and similarly-colored pants, wearing black boots and gloves and wearing a red service cap.

Rouge: Is that Sonic the First?

King Sonic: Yessir, that's Grandpa, alright.

Rouge: Sheesh, don't you Big Blues ever change?

King Sonic: No, not really. You should take a look at my Great-Grandpa, Jules the Hedgehog, the only differences between us and him is that he had brown eyes.

Just then, Sonic walked up to Rouge, and she could tell he had just finished a chili dog, because he had the smell of onions on his breath.

Rouge: Sheesh, Sonic, the least you could've done was take a breath mint after that chili dog!

Sonic: What, and ruin the taste of it? Never!

King Sonic: Aleena and I said the same things to each other when we married.

Rouge, smelling onion on King Sonic's breath, pulled out a case of breath mints she carried around. Now, as to her attire, she decided on her Extreme Gear suit. She gave each of the Sonics a breath mint, and insisted they took them. Seeing no alternative, they put the mints in their mouths. Rouge's belly was more noticeably round.

Rouge: I knew you two would see it my way.

Sonic: By the way, Rouge, you feeling queasy or anything?

Rouge: Nope, I've got this bun baking right.

King Sonic: You better be careful, though, that little sucker can and will be very unpredictable, just like Sonic here, and just like all of the Sonics before him, as a matter of fact.

Sonic: Rouge, did I tell you where I was born?

Rouge: Yeah, Christmas Island, why?

Sonic: Well, that's something that Dad and Mom will be better able to explain.

The three met up with Aleena in the tea room, and they sat down to a nice cup of tea and crumpets.

Aleena: Well, it was said that I was sterile, that I couldn't have children. Sonic and I near gave up hope.

King Sonic: Nine months later, we were vacationing on Christmas Island at the time, and we didn't know it yet, but we were going to get a big surprise.

Aleena: That night, I felt intense stomach pains, and when I went to the bathroom to try and relieve myself, I found that my water had broken. I was going into labor.

King Sonic: I called the local doctor, and he got there as quick as he could.

Aleena: After what seemed like an eternity, Sonic was born first, Sally soon after.

Rouge: You didn't know you were pregnant? Wow…

Aleena: But when I found out I was, and when these two were born, I felt like I had been blessed.

King Sonic: We both felt that way. Finally, there was someone who could take the throne. Finally, we were able to have a family.

Sonic: Well, don't worry, Rouge, if that were to ever happen, just know that I'll be here beside you all the way.

Rouge: Aw, Sonic, you're such a sweetheart!

They passionately kissed, King Sonic and Aleena smiled. They whispered to each other.

King Sonic: Our boy got one heck of a girl there.

Aleena: Indeed, and she was going to have a noble title, no less.

King Sonic: That really was a shock.
